Sub-prefecture of the Lot department, Figeac is located at the EAST end of the department, at the limits of Aveyron and Cantal. City of the former province of Quercy, it now belongs to the Occitanian region and has 10.000 inhabitants

. Around the ancient medieval abbey, which allowed its foundation, Figeac preserves a remarkable set of medieval houses intimately inscribed in today’s city. Jean-François Champollion’s hometown, his family home has become a museum dedicated to the memory of the Egyptologist and to the history of the scriptures of the World.

In 2018 near a million tourists visited the city

The exhibition will take place from 8 to 16 August 2019 in the Balène Hall. This beautiful exhibition hall, in the historic centre of Figeac, a few steps from the famous world famous Champollion museum.
The city of Figeac receives nearly one million visitors each year. A catalogue will be published on this occasion and animations will be programmed during the opening.
Photographers from all over the world will be exhibited and a local competition on the city of Figeac will be organized.
